Junior Varsity
Junior Varsity participants are seeking post-secondary experiences to gain a sense of enjoyment and learning.
Participant Requirements:

Be 15 or older
-
Independently care for personal toileting and feeding needs
-
Will stay within programs without eloping
-
Have a desired for increased independence within specific courses
-
Emotional and behavioral challenges do not serve a danger to self or others
-
Follows 2-step directions
-
Have a desire for social interaction with peers
-
Participants who are enrolled in back to back courses must be able to transition independently between locations on campus

Redstick U strives to meet the following objectives:
-
Junior Varsity shares programming with Varsity participants but with different expectations. JV participants are not yet ready for the full-time Varsity experience and/or their family does not support the goals of independent living and working/volunteering.

Programming based on availability, Monday through Friday

Provide a variety of courses to encourage learning and social growth through participation and engagement.

Encourage independence within the context of individual courses

Participants pay per course per semester

NO supervision is provided during lunch at Redstick CARES
-
Junior Varsity participants do not have an advisor
-
JV participants will not participate in advisory meetings

Semester Cost:
Each course has a unique cost based on staffing and materials needed.
Varsity
Varsity participants are seeking post-secondary education to gain independence with life and employment or volunteer skills.
Participant Requirements:

Be 15 or older

Independently care for personal toileting and feeding needs

Will stay within programs without eloping

Have a desire for increased independence in living and working
-
Family has a desire and willingness to allow the individual to gain and implement independent skills
-
Has a desire for future employment/volunteerism within the community
-
Family has a desire and willingness to allow the individual to have independent employment/volunteerism
-
Emotional and behavioral challenges do not serve a danger to self or others
-
Follows 2-step directions
Redstick U strives to meet the following objectives:

Programming provided Monday through Friday

Increase independent living skills
-
Develop emotional and self-awareness skills via mental health therapy integration
-
Increase social skills with real-life integrations built into curriculum
-
Develop employment/volunteerism skills through programs and real-life integrations
-
Develop food and culinary skills through programs involving cooking and meal planning.

Learning within the community, such as grocery store, food bank, animal shelter, etc.

Participants pay per semester, full time or part time
-
NO supervision is provided during lunch at Redstick CARES

Varsity participants will be assigned an advisor (similar to “supervisors” from our previous model)

Participants begin and end their day with an advisory meeting

Redstick U Varsity graduates will receive an employment certificate that details their mastered skills in each specialty employment area.
​
Semester Cost:
$3,700 (4 - 5 days a week, no room or meals)
$2,220 (1-3 days a week, no room or meals)
Community/Alumni
Community/Alumni Participants are seeking opportunities for guided social engagement and fun.
Participant Requirements:

Be 15 or older
-
Independently care for personal toileting and feeding needs or have a personal care attendant for assistance
-
Will stay within programs without eloping
-
Emotional and behavioral challenges do not serve a danger to self or others
-
Follows 2-step directions
-
Is seeking opportunities for social engagement and healthy emotional expression

Provide a fun and engaging space for community members and alumni of Redstick U to continue relationships, socialize, and have fun!

Provide a variety of engagement opportunities to encourage learning and social growth through participation.

Encourage independence within the context of individual courses
